About the Artist
Mandy Grotie is an award winning visual artist who is currently living in Portland, Oregon. She likes when art catches her eye for its funky form and bright colors. It gives her a sense of relief from everyday life, almost pausing her in the present. The weirder the better. She gets lost in her understanding and interpretation of creation’s reality.
Her style consists of black, fluid lines and fading dots, with an integration of bright colors. With this combination, she feels it gives breath and a unique life to her work. She digs working with bright colors to embed positivity into her art. She believes that this can have an effect through an awakening of the visual senses. Her work is funky, weird, and full of love. She combines these elements typically in a symmetrical way to create a visually pleasing piece.
Mandy Grotie has created work for Pabst Blue Ribbon and the Portland Trailblazers. She was the winner of a Pabst Blue Ribbon contest in 2014 and her design was put on a billboard in SE Portland. She was later the Portland Pabst Artist in 2016, doing live art pieces around the metro area. In 2019, she was a Gameday Poster Artist for the Trailblazers. Her design was an exclusive print sold at the Moda Center. It was also presented in a gallery during Design Week Portland and featured in the New York Times.
She aspires to keep creating and bringing brightness to the world!
